some background information
Who are we ?
Many of you already know us from Instagram. If we’re just now meeting, we’re Laura and Patrik.
We have to admit that it took us a while (several years, to be exact) to realize that living a life full of travel isn’t just possible with regular jobs, it’s also incredibly satisfying.
We launched our travel blog and Instagram with an enthusiastic goal in mind: Quitting our jobs someday and go on a world trip. After all, isn’t that the dream of every traveler? Isn’t it the ultimate goal?
In spring of 2023, we finally set a date for our grand world trip in 2024 and began budgeting. However, in the following weeks, something just didn’t feel right.
We weren’t excited as we should have been. Instead, we felt overwhelmed by stress and pressure. Planning the trip’s route became more of a burden than a joy. Something held us back from sharing our plans with our friends, family, and our social media community.
After numerous debates, we had to admit that we were pushing ourselves into something we didn’t truly desire. It felt like failure, realizing that we had been pursuing a dream that wasn’t genuinely ours.
Fortunately, with time, we started to feel relieved. We finally understood that it wasn’t about full-time travel for us. It was about balance. A life in balance where our family, friends, travel adventures, and yes, our jobs, all had their place.
Why do we share this with you?
Because we get it now. For some people life isn’t about choosing between your job and your passion for travel. It’s about finding that sweet spot where your job doesn’t hold you back but helps you enter a world of adventure.
But even with all optimization, eventually, your vacation days run out. Then what? Wait until next year? Save up for the next big trip?
That’s where your weekends come in.
If you’re reading this, you probably already know that weekend trips don’t just fall into your lap. You have to finance them and you have to plan them. The good news is, weekend trips don’t have to be expensive, and they don’t have to be a hassle to plan.
Weekend trips have power!
And this guide show you how to use the power of weekend trips to your advantage!
